Rick lives and works in Miami, Florida. He is originally from New York, where he graduated from New York City College of Technology and SVA in Graphic Art. In New York, he worked as a graphic artist and art director before moving to Miami where he now teaches Design. Art has always played a major role in his life in one form or another. He has worked in various mediums, but now exclusively works in collage.

He finds collage a perfect medium for him because of the nature of the materials. He uses mainly mulberry paper for his creations. The hand made paper gives him a translucent quality he finds magical. He layers both translucent and opaque cuts to form subtleties within the work. He also works with natural materials as well.

One of his favorite are angel wing flower petals. These dried petals offer him another translucent quality to his work. He uses them as another raw material; deconstructing and cutting them as he does with paper. He often uses them to form abstract flowers which become part of his floral works. He often jokes that "he makes flowers from flowers."
